Brewers' Company Award to Royal Lancer

The Brewers' Company Award 2021 is presented to Cpl Bragg by Nick Tindal, Clerk to the Brewers' Company

On Friday 29 April the Clerk to the Brewers' Company, Nick Tindal, was delighted to belatedly present the Brewers' Company Award 2021 to Cpl Bragg of the Royal Lancers.

The Brewers' Company Award is presented annually to the trooper or JNCO in the Royal Lancers, the Brewers' Company's affiliated Army regiment, who has shown the greatest initiative in support of Regimental life, be it professionally, on the sports pitch or in support to the Regimental community. Sadly the presentation was postponed in 2021, but the Clerk was very pleased to have the opportunity to give Cpl Bragg his award when he visited the Regiment at their garrison in Catterick to attend their annual Chattels Lunch.

The citation for the award stated: "The now Cpl Bragg is the C Sqn Regimental Signals Instructor. In this role he has performed well above the standard expected of a LCpl. On EGYPT LANCER, a sub-unit deployment to Salisbury Plain, the Sqn conducted an entire mission via data – the first time anyone can remember this being achieved – due to LCpl Bragg’s perseverance, support and mentorship of crew commanders. During the Sqn Support to Experimentation and Training he executed successful PACEXs without oversight ensuring all participants deployed with no communication issues whatsoever. He was the first and last man to finish work on the dust bowl each day and the only individual on call 24hrs a day to resolve issues. The Armd Cav training team recognised LCpl Bragg's talent calling on him several times over a maintenance day to rectify problems in their Command Post which their own CP crew could not resolve. Furthermore, LCpl Bragg also was instrumental to the success of the most recent PNCO cadre through his robust comms planning and execution. For his diligence, signals expertise, and pursuit of excellence, Cpl Bragg is awarded the Brewers Company Award."
