Support for Students

The Brewers’ company seeks to support young people who are interested in pursuing a career in the brewing industry.

The Brewers’ Company Scholarship for Brewing Excellence

Run in collaboration with the International Centre for Brewing and Distilling at Heriot Watt University, this award is granted to the postgraduate student who submits the most innovative brewing related proposal for their three-month research project as part of the Masters programme in Brewing and Distilling.  The award is to be used by the student to fund their research project.

Brewers’ Company Prizes for IBD Courses

Awarded annually to the students from Brewers’ Company member companies who obtain the highest marks in the Institute of Brewing and Distilling’s General Certificate in Brewing and General Certificate in Packaging courses.  A cash prize and engraved tankard are presented by the Master at a Brewers’ Company event.

The Brewers’ Lectures

Presented annually by the Master of the Brewers’ Company to Sixth Form students at Aldenham and Dame Alice Owen’s Schools, the Brewers’ Lectures aim to inform pupils not only about beer and brewing, but also about the further education and career opportunities in brewing and the hospitality industry more widely.

Career advice

Brewers’ Company members are also able to provide advice, mentoring and work experience for young people considering a career in brewing.
